At Hyland Hills Ski Area:

Scouts Ski and Snowboard Day — 2018: March 10th 8 AM – 9 PM
Try skiing or snowboarding with reduced rates for scouts and their families. A 1.5-hour ski or snowboard lesson for scouts (ages 8-17) begins at 11 AM; reservations required for the lesson by March 9.  If you are not participating in the lesson, purchase your lift tickets between 8 AM-3 PM. $16/person ($32 with equipment and helmet rental); $10/scout for lesson. At Cleary Lake in Prior Lake:

  • Canoeing — September 14, 2017
    Learn safety, entering and exiting a canoe, and paddle strokes while having fun on the water. Reservations required by two days prior. $15. Ages: 8-17.    #6REC5020-01
  • Living Outside Survival Training (LOST) — November 9, 2017
    Learn the life-saving skills of fire and shelter building, signaling, and wilderness safety with experienced instructors. Equipment provided. Reservations required. $6. Ages: 8-17. #6REC5025-01
  • Cross-Country Skiing — January 11, 2018
    Learn about equipment fitting and use. Practice classic diagonal glide and techniques for going up and down hills. Ski rentals available for $5. Reservations required by two days prior. $10. Ages: 8-17. #6REC5030-01
  • Fat Biking – February 10, 2018
    Discuss equipment fitting and use. Learn winter fat biking techniques while exploring park trails. Equipment provided. Reservations required by two days prior. $15. Ages: 13-17. #6REC5035-01
  • Maple Syruping — March 8, 2018
    Identify and tap maple trees. Collect the sap and cook it to make tasty maple syrup or sugar. This sweet sign of spring is full of history. Reservations required. $5. Ages: 5-17. #6REC5040-01
  • Fishing — May 10, 2018
    Learn about equipment, bait, local fish, and how to catch and release. Equipment provided. Reservations required. $6. Ages: 5-17. #6REC5045-01

At Cedar Lake Farm in New Prague:

  • Archery — October 12, 2017
    Learn archery basics and elements of safety. Shoot at stationary targets and play games. Equipment provided. Reservations required. $10. Ages: 8-17. #6REC5000-01
  • Geocaching for Smores — December 14, 2017
    Yummy, gooey s’mores! Learn geocaching basics and search for delicious treasure. Equipment provided. Reservations required. $8. Ages: 5-17. #6REC5005-01
  • Ice Fishing — February 8, 2018
    Discuss equipment, bait, local fish, and cold water safety. See lures and bait, use an ice auger, and go inside a fish house. Fish from a freshly-cut hole in the ice. Equipment provided. Reservations required. $6. Ages: 5-17. #6REC5010-01
  • Slacklining — April 12, 2018
    Develop coordination, increase endurance and concentration, and tone muscles while balancing across a two-inch-wide line. Discover why slacklining has been coined fun, safe and simply addictive! Reservations required. $5. Ages: 5-17. #6REC5015-01

MN Zoo – Animals After Dark Group ZzzZoo Overnights

Group overnights are for youth ages 8-18 plus chaperones. The zoo recommends a ratio of one chaperone per six youth with a minimum of 2 adults per group.
Enjoy an evening of learning about the animals that call the “Minnesota Zoo” home before bedding down for the night. All group overnights are $47/person and include an evening snack, breakfast, a Minnesota Zoo patch  and a program t-shirt. Continue your adventure at the Great Clips IMAX Theatre!

The IMAX Experience can add to your Girl Scout’s day while visiting the Minnesota Zoo. Visit the IMAX website for film updates at www.imax.com/minnesota.  To book your Girl Scouts call 952-997-9714 or cpurfeerst@imax.com.  They offer a “behind the scenes tour” for the Projection Booth for all Girl Scout group reservations and IMAX patches are available!

Girl Scout Day at the MN Zoo: 2018 Date TBD
 Join us for a special day dedicated to Daisy through Ambassador Girl Scouts. See the Zoo and participate in fun activities with your sister scouts.
No Registration Necessary!
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Fee: TBD
A Minnesota Zoo Girl Scout Day patch will be available to purchase the day of the event (patches cost $3).
